Before we talk about options, let's first talk about the problem we're trying to solve: How to Get Dinner on the Table
We can break Get Dinner on the Table down into smaller components. These services will help with one or more of them:
This is the "set it and forget it" option to Get Dinner on the Table. This is one step down from having a cook on your staff, along with your maids, nanny's and other service personnel. You meet with a personal chef for an initial consultation where you'll discuss your family's needs, dietary and meal preferences. You'll also talk about how many meals you'll get and at what frequency they're prepared. The menu is planned by the Personal Chef, she purchases necessary ingredients and prepares meals in your home for the week. They're labeled with reheating instructions.
Meal Delivery Services give you a limited menu choice and prepare all the food in an offsite facility and then deliver prepared, packaged meals to your door step with reheating instructions. In some cases you might have to, or be able to, go to a central pick up location if delivery is not available. Most will over you a general calorie target per meal and/or dietary component (Gluten Free, Low Carb, Low Fat, etc). Meal selections rotate and you can pick and choose from a set of meals for a given time period, often monthly.
These services take the prep work out of the equation for you. You choose from a menu and receive ingredients for your meals at your door step.
These are brick and mortar stores that often have a rotating monthly menu and have a buffet style prep area with the ingredients for all items on the menu. After you've chosen the menu items, you go to the store with a cooler, receive your recipes and package individual meals using the ingredients in the buffet. You leave with several days or weeks worth of meals prepped and ready for cooking once you get home.
Instead of handing off the tasks to store employees you find your own employee and they go to the store for you.
Sign up for a weekly / monthly service that takes the thought out of meal planning Or at least most of the thought out. Depending on the service you may be able to set preferences or alter menus after they've been made.
For a fee, you get to skip the grocery store, your chosen groceries are delivered to your door.
For a somewhat smaller fee than delivery, you get to skip going into the grocery store and have your groceries loaded into your car curbside.
These might not help you skip the grocery store, but they might make menu planning easier and reduce your anxiety about the kitchen by giving you the knowledge to prep and prepare meals more easily.
